Maid & Master: the Massey Murder tells the story of a young domestic servant, Carrie Davies, who shot and killed Charles “Bert” Massey, her employer and member of the powerful Massey family.

Premiered at the University of Toronto's New Music Festival in January of 2020, the opera featured singers of UofT Opera, U of T Chamber Choir, and instrumentalists of the Faculty of Music. The libretto was written by Michael Patrick Albano, and four composers were selected to compose four scenes each; Gavin Fraser, Keno Stratford, Xintong Wang, and myself.
