A Canadian composer, pianist and producer, Katharine Petkovski draws from many genres of music, layering and experimenting with acoustic instruments and synthesized textures to create exciting sonic palettes. Featured on CBC’s “30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30” 2022 edition list, Katharine has released a number of recording projects and has composed music for Canadian ensembles like Odin Quartet, Bedford Trio and the Exultate Chamber Singers. Her music has been performed and recorded at such venues as PODIUM Choral Conference and Festival and CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio.

Katharine is especially passionate about scoring music for film and tv, and has written for a variety of films, and numerous forms of visual and commercial media. Her track ‘Deadlight’ was selected by director Stephen Hosier, from the Canadian Olympic Committee, for a video featuring Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Sørensen leading up to the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games. Her most recent film, Coin Slot (written and directed by Scott Jones) was selected to be shown at BFI Flare Festival, Phoenix Film Festival, and Inside Out Film Festival.
